Abstract

The respondent had successfully sued the appellants for the tort of defamation in the High Court of Tanzania, sitting at Dar es Salaam. According to the plaint, the respondent's claim was based on the appellants' publication of the defamatory article which appeared in the Guardian newspaper on 28th September 2004, issue No. 3065 (ISSN 0856 - 5422).
